Zambian Super League Officially Moves to 7th In Africa

The Zambian Super League moved to 7th place in Africa replacing Sudan after the elimination of Sudanese club Al Hilal from the Caf Confederations Cup yesterday as they went out 5-2 on aggregate to Etoile Du Sahel.

The result means that Sudan could not overtake Zambia and remained on 35 points on the Caf 5 Year Rankings while Zambia are now on 40.5 points in 7th place.

The Caf 5 Year Rankings are a points based system where a Countries league earns points through its clubs which determines how it will be ranked.

The top 12 leagues in Caf can field 4 teams in continental competition while those outside of the top 12 can only field 2.

This is Zambia’s highest ranking ever with the league entering the TOP 12 for the first time in 2018 and it continues moving up the ranks.
