Barça Academy Lusaka players who represented Zambia at the just ended Barcelona World Cup in Spain have arrived back in the country.
The Team touched down Kenneth Kaunda International Airport yesterday afternoon aboard Fly Emirates Airline.
And Lusaka Barcelona Academy Under-14 players have gone down in history as the only African team to have played in the final of the competition just a year after the inception of the academy.
The Team comprising nine out of 14 under privileged players from Lusaka were among 64 other youth clubs present at the competition.
And Under-14 Coach Brian Kunsenama says the performance of the boys is a testimony that Zambian footballers regardless of the age are a force to reckon with.
Kunsenama says despite being labeled as under dogs before the start of the competition, the team emerged favourites due to their exceptional performance.
He said the team put up a spirited fight in the 2-1 defeat to New York in the final.
Kunsenama said there is need to keep nurturing the boys at all age groups at the academy because they are the future of Zambian football.
