Chipolopolo Drop On FIFA Rankings

Zambia have dropped by two rungs, from 79th to 81st globally on the latest Fifa rankings published on Friday, June 14.

The drop in the rankings comes on the back of winning the 2019 Cosafa Cup, where they recorded draws against Malawi and Zimbabwe before defeating Botswana 1-0 in the final on June 8.

They also recorded a 2-1 loss against Cameroon in an international friendly match played in Spain on June 9.

Ranked 18th in Africa, they are the most notable nation of those which will be absent from the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations starting in Egypt on June 21.
They are the second highest ranked nation from the COSAFA region, behind South Africa.

Senegal lead the rankings of teams from the CAF region, rising to their best position ever of 22nd in the World.

Globally, Belgium are still the best ranked nation ahead of France and Brazil.
