CAF Picks Top Zambian Referee Janny Sikazwe for Egypt AfCON 2019 Finals

Janny Sikazwe
Zambian top referee Janny Sikazwe has been chosen as one of the officials to officiate the Africa Cup of Nations finals in Egypt, Zambianfootballnews.com can reveal.

Sikazwe, 39, was nominated for the 2015 Caf Referee of the Year award.

During the 2017 Afcon, he officiated Cameroon’s match against Burkina Faso in the group stage, which ended in a 1-1 draw, as well as their quarterfinal clash with Senegal, which saw the Indomitable Lions win 5-4 on penalties.

He was also the referee for the 2016 Fifa Club World Cup final between Real Madrid and Kashima Antlers in December, when he was at the centre of controversy, as he appeared to reach into his pocket to book Sergio Ramos for a second time before changing his mind.

Egypt will be looking to win a record extending eighth title while Cameroon will be chasing their fifth Afcon crown.
