THE Football Assocition of Zambia (FAZ) raked in over K800,000 in ticket sales for the Chipolopolo versus Comoros in a AfCON qualifier match played at Heroes stadium.

Following a post-mortem of the Ivory Coast 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between Zambia and Comoros, the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) wishes to inform its members and stakeholders about the outcome of the ticket sales.
FAZ wishes to thank the members of the public once again for the overwhelming support to their team throughout the 90 minutes of the 2-1 victory over Comoros.
FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala says fans heeded the call to buy tickets ahead of the highly anticipated clash at National Heroes Stadium.
Kashala disclosed that FAZ realized over K1 million from ticket sales which would be critical in recouping some of the expenses incurred in organizing the game.
“The total revenue from the match was pegged at K1, 702, 600.00 while total expenses were at K818, 229.00 translating into a surplus of K884, 371.00,” says FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala.
“We benefitted largely from the welcome option of opening ticket sales four weeks before the game.”
He says that releasing the numbers from the gate charges was consistent with the current FAZ executive that had placed transparency at the core of its operations.
“We are keeping to the strict adherence of good corporate governance of being transparent in our financial transactions and believe that this is a template that we must build on. We are grateful to the public for supporting the Chipolopolo in its quest to qualify to the Ivory Coast 2023 Africa Cup of Nations,” Kashala
The Chipolopolo’s next AFCON engagement are back-to-back engagements against Lesotho in September.
