CHIPOLOPOLO midfield magnate Benson ‘America’ Sakala has left Viktoria Zizkov in Czech Republic just after eight months at the club, Zambianfootballnews.com understands.
America as he is fondly called joined FK Viktoria Žižkov which is one of the oldest football clubs in the Czech Republic, from Žižkov on a two year deal where former Zambia International Jacob Mulenga facilitated the move.
Viktoria plays in the Czech National Football League, the second tier of football in the country. The club won the Czechoslovak First League title in the 1927–28 season. It has also won two editions of the Czech Cup.
The reason for leaving has been attributed to ‘culture and being home sick’ according to close confidants of the player at the Czech club.
Top Zambian clubs such as ZANACO FC will be on high alert looking to snap up the 25-year old former Power Dynamos midfielder who is now a free agent after midfield enforcer Kelvin Kapumbo left the club for Ndola glamour side ZESCO United.
