Aljosa Asks Zambians To Believe In His Team

Aljosa sings Zambian Anthem with the rest of his Technical bench

National team coach Aljosa Asanovic has made a passionate appeal to Zambians to believe in the players he has assembled ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ivory Coast.
In an interview, Asanovic admitted that Ivory Coast is a big team with great players but insisted that Zambia has players good enough to take on the Elephants.
“Ivory Coast is a great team, if you have players like Zaha, Erick Baily and Haller, it is a great team, but if I don’t believe in my team, why am I going there (Ivory Coast)?” he asked.
“I believe so much in my team and you also need to believe in this team.”
Asanovic said Ivory Coast are favourites in Group H, but that the Chipolopolo will prepare well for the match scheduled for June 3 in Abidjan.

Comoros Island and Lesotho are the other teams in Group H.
“Yes, we have respect, we are playing against a great team, in fact the favourites in our group, but come on Zambians, believe in us, believe in Patson [Daka], believe in Enock [Mwepu] and the rest of the players”
