Congo Fans Want Coach Sacked After Loss To Zambia

Red Devils fans on social media want Congo coach Paul Put, a Belgian, fired after being humiliated by Zambia’s Chipolopolo in Turkey on Friday evening.

One social media user wrote, “This coach has no place in the national team for a long time.”

Another said, “M. PUT n’a plus sa place au Congo. Rendez lui sa liberté ainsi que celle des supporteurs des diables rouges.
Je répète nous ne voulons plus de M. PUT à la tête de notre sélection”

Translation in English in part,

Mr. Put no longer has a place in the Congo.”🇨🇬

“I repeat we no longer want Mr Put at the head of our selection.”

Other fans felt that the Congo Red Devils lost due to player selection claiming that inferior quality players campaigning abroad where preferred ahead of performing local players.

“The way to select players in our country is nonsense. They prefer to select players from the 4th, 3rd or 2nd division of European championship. While only taking a few players from our local league who play 100% club matches.”

Another wrote, “ ……train the local people and go through out the country you will discover talents, not only looking for the players who are abroad white man not stupid to put them in second division. Congo has talent.”

Put, 65, previously coached Guinea where he was fired in 2019 and has also taken charge of Gambia, Burkina Faso, Jordan and Kenya with a host of clubs such as Saif SC, USM Alger, Lokeren, Lierse and Mouscron among others.
