Former Chipolopolo coach Bestone CHAMBESHI says he worked with new Chipolopolo coach Aljosa Asanovic but that the two differed in philosophy.
CHAMBESHI who has been replaced by Asanovic was the last Chipolopolo coach before the Croatian native took over this week.
Asanovic who is formerly of Napoli and a former Croatia National team assistant coach has been given a four year mandate.
CHAMBESHI says he left a well assembled team capable of bringing glory to the national team.
“I left a well-assembled side, very good players, players who can bring glory to the national team but it will depend on the gentleman who is coming. I hope he has the zeal to push the boys and maintain [improve] Zambia’s status,” CHAMBESHI says.
“We have come from a bad patch where we have failed to qualify for three AfCON tournaments so we do not want to see excuses. I have said in the past, this is not the time to build, it is now time to cement and see that the team is intact.”
Chambeshi believes that it’s time that the national team is cemented.
“We have gone through a lot of building which is not healthy for the national team. This time it is a matter of cementing the team and bringing results…I cannot say much, yes we worked with him but we differ in our philosophy, so I can just wish him the best,” he says.
