Zanaco have been grouped with 2021 CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finalists CS Sfaxien of Tunisia and semi-finalists Pyramids FC of Egypt in Group A of the 2022 edition of the tournament.
According to the draws conducted at the CAF Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, the Bankers will also have to negotiate their way past Ahly Tripoli of Libya for the two available quarter-final slots in Group A.
Kelvin Kaindu’s men will begin their campaign away against CS Sfaxien on 13 February before hosting Pyramids FC seven days later.
The Bankers will make another North-African trip to Libya to face Ahly Tripoli on 27 February on Matchday 3 before hosting the north Africans in a reverse fixture on 13 March, 2022.
The last set of matches will take place on 20 March (at home against CS Sfaxien) and 3 April in Egypt, where Zanaco will wrap up their Group A campaign against Pyramids.
Meanwhile, Chipolopolo midfielder Rally Bwalya will face off with countrymate and former Simba SC teammate, Clatous Chota Chama after Simba were placed in Group D with RS Berkane of Morocco.
In the CAF Champions League, Chipolopolo midfielder Augustine Mulenga’s Amazulu are in Group B with 2021 CAF Confederation Cup champions Raja Casablanca of Morocco, Horoya AC of Guinea and ES Setif of Algeria.
