Zambian striker Justin Shonga has terminated his contract with Egyptian Premier league side Ismaily SC due to unpaid salaries.

A settlement has now been concluded between the two parties and in the event of default FIFA DRC will be the next recourse of action.

Shonga rose to prominence in 2017 when he moved from his home country of Zambia, where he plied his trade for Nkwazi FC, to sign for Orlando Pirates.

While he didn’t lift any silverware with the Pirates, he still managed to score 16 goals and provide 16 assists in 77 appearances while also guiding them to back-to-back second-place finishes in the league.

Then in October of 2020, he moved to South Africa’s Marumo Gallants FC, where he stayed for just three months before signing a six-month contract with Cape Town City FC.
