CHIPOLOPOLO Coach BESTON CHAMBESHI says the team will get a slot at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations after failing to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.
Chambeshi says despite failing to make it out of group B to the final qualifying round for the Qatar showpiece, Zambia has a team that can qualify to next edition of the AFCON tournament and other competitions.
He was speaking during a post match interview after Zambia lost three one to Tunisia last night.
And the Chipolopolo Coach said the team lost the encounter because Tunisia executed their plan from inception and that his side was relaxed in the first half and got punished in the process with three goals.
Chambeshi said his charges comprising mostly young players put a good fight in the second half which resulted in the penalty that was awarded to Zambia and taken by FASHION SAKALA who through a rebound scored a face saver for the team.
And Tunisia who finished top of group B on 13 points have joined the likes of Senegal, Nigeria, Algeria , Egypt , Cameroon , Mali and the Democratic Republic of Congo in the play-off round for the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers .
