ZAMBIAN international tricky winger Augustine Mulenga has resumed training after sitting out for the past 3weeks owing to injury for his South African DStv Premiership club Amazulu.
Benni McCarthy’s AmaZulu have been boosted by the return of eight players ahead of this weekend’s clash against Kaizer Chiefs.
Last season’s DStv Premiership runners-up recorded their first win of the 2021/22 campaign following a 1-0 win over Baroka FC on Saturday and will be in action again this weekend when they play to host the Amakhosi.
Usuthu coach McCarthy has been handed a timely boost ahead of the encounter after he confirmed that up to eight previously sidelined players could be available for selection in the enthralling fixture.
“This week we can bring back the likes of [Augustine] Mulenga, Thabo Qalinge, Xola Mlambo, [Thembela] Sikhakhane, Philani Zulu, Tercious Malepe comes back from suspension, we get Kgotso Moleko back,” he said.
“We get back about eight players [sic.] who, last season, were undisputed starting XI players, so the team is only going to benefit from getting these players back.”
AmaZulu climbed to seventh position in the league table, with six points from their opening five games, following the win over Baroka, while Chiefs are languishing in 13th after failing to win each of their last three matches.
