Marksman Daka Impresses Against Villareal, Torments Defenders

Patson Daka tussles for the ball with a Burton player in preseason

CHIPOLOPOLO marksman Patson Daka put in an impressive shift in the second half for English Premiership club Leicester City that recorded a 3-2 home win over Spanish Laliga club Villarreal CF in a preseason friendly played this evening at the King Power Stadium.

Daka had come on for legendary English forward Jamie Vardy at the start of the second half when the ‘Foxes’ were leading 2-0. The 22 year old showed flashes of his pace and gave Villarreal a tough time shortly after being introduced.

The 22 year old was heavily involved in the third goal minutes later as he passed the ball towards Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall who dummied the goalkeeper before crossing the ball to Ayoze Perez for a simple tap in.

However, the euphoric atmosphere at the King Power Stadium was quenched after dependable defender Wesley Fofana was stretchered off after a nasty challenge on the middle of the park. Replays showed that the French youth international could have had a broken leg and might be out for months.

Villarreal pulled two goals back late on after some casual defending from the Foxes but they were not enough as Leicester recorded their first and only win in four preseason friendlies.
