THE Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has told the national team technical bench to have a contingency plan in place in view of the challenges it was experiencing in securing the services of its top players signed to two English sides for the up-coming FIFA 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

FAZ president Andrew Kamanga said yesterday the technical bench should make sure it had plans to do without its top players in the worst-case scenario as it prepares to face Mauritania in its first game on the long road to Qatar.

European based players in Patson Daka, Enock Mwepu and Fashion Sakala risk missing out on the upcoming qualifiers against Mauritania (away) and Tunisia at Levy Mwanawasa owing to restrictions put forward by the government in the United Kingdom for any traveling visitors from the COVID Amber Listed countries such as Zambia.
